More Wedding Cakes Ideas

Wedding Cake for Mr. Philosophy a.k.a. TMY
Besides Den Kor Kor, you know I’m your ‘best’ mate at office =) hahaha…
TMY has a lovely and sweet wife. Their requirement is also sweet and simple. This English vintage-inspired cake design is to reflect their purity of love. Up to date, they are the most ‘holy’ couple I have met, whom I truly admire. Those days, our parents do appreciate long lasting love where they will still hold each other hands till today. I just remember how my late grandfather waited for my grandma’s soul to return on the 7th day of her death, although he knows that he is not allowed to do so. He just wishes to see my late grandma for one last time but we made him waited in the room. Deep in my heart, I can feel his pain and touched by his true love to my grandma. Popo and Gung Gung, rest in peace and am proud to be your grand daughter who also celebrate love with her loved ones through baking.

Hawaiian-Styled Mini Wedding Cake
It’s Pineapple Chocolate Moist Brownies with Walnuts + a touch of coconut liquor. Simple enjoy the taste of the rich chocolate fudge and the texture of this moist cake.

Heart-Shaped Four-Tier Wedding Cake
I like the idea of Valentine’s Day, not because we should fall for the brilliant marketing idea in making it another day to sell more candies and flowers. I like the idea of reminding ourselves to love and care for our family, friends + your partner not only on this special day but to practice this everyday. I mean what’s the meaning of Valentine’s Day when you only show your love on that particular day but not any other day. Silly huh? We should show our appreciation every second. This is why I baked this cake during a dinner outing with my family + relatives. Friends and guys out there, I will bake for you the next round! =)

Collection of Wedding Cakes

My first Wedding Cake
One of my interest is to design wedding cakes because I enjoy the feeling of sharing the love and joy with the bride and groom – most of the time the brides are the ones who got really excited.I personally like the piping designs.

Sharing my thoughts on wedding cakes remind me of my first wedding that I design 4 years ago. It was three-tier white + golden wedding cake for my ex-colleague, Hardip Singh and his wife, Ruby. I heard they have been blessed with a baby girl recently. How lovely!

The Green Green Cake
Each time when I get the chance to decorate a wedding cake, I have the tendency to explore my creativity through colours, designs and shapes. I like to choose the colour that the bride likes. I shocked my mum when I decorated a green-coloured wedding cake for my lady boss. My sister would tease me by asking me if I’m baking for the Raya celebration. I told them it was my boss’s favourite colour and I want to design something that makes the person who will be receiving this, happy and excited! I started the colour with light green and ended up with strong, dark green. I was worried at first as it should be a wedding cake and not a Raya cake. I added red roses to bring the cake back to life again! Yay! My boss love it! In the end of the day, that’s what matters. Blek Blek…for those laughed at me.

October Cake Competition

Last October, I entered a cake competition with no expectation to win any prizes but full of excitement and courage to complete two wedding cakes! It was a daring approach as I’ve never taken any baking or cake decorating classes before and here I am taking part in a competition with tons of professionals. Although my little creations did not make it to the top 3 but I knew my mum was proud of me =)

My apology to my mum and dad as they need to assist me to deliver the cakes to the venue (and we will scream each time we went through bumpy roads).  Thinking back, it was funny that my dad kept on emphasize that I need to have a van to deliver these kind of cakes just like most of the bakery owners did in most countries!  I can start collecting my funds now by baking more cakes.

The White Wedding
“A wedding cake should be white as it shows sincerity, purity and true love”, that’s what my mum would always said each time I design a wedding cake. She would say it like a love expert, sharing her experiences about relationship and funny stories about dating. This cake design was inspired by the vintage fabric patterns and it also represent eternity love.

The Romantic Red
It was one of my dream wedding cakes but since I’ve been exposed to so many new design, it has became one of the must-try design instead of must-own design. Love should be sweet and at the same time it should be sexy. This cake design is inspired by the Cinderella story – every wedding should have a happily ever after story. This romantic red represents sweet memories with little butterflies and each color tone shares the different story of a romantic romance. It’s sexy because of the sexy chili red. With the initial double ‘S’, it means Sandy Shiek da baker.
