Listening to Jason Derulo’s latest song – Marry Me. I’ve attended two weddings this year and here are a few wedding and engagement cake designs for your inspiration. Don’t ask when I’ll get married as I don’t even have a boyfriend yet – giving the reason that am always occupied at work and baking :P

I hope this is just the beginning for me to create even more wedding cake designs as I simply love the idea of sharing the happy moment of the bride and groom when they see the cake. At least there's true love out there, somewhere, somehow for someone.

Whoa… the last one year plus has given me the opportunity to create many cake designs…and here are some of the creations and am simply amazed with my talents. I think God is fair – with my talent, my sexy look LOL, my intelligence – this is why am still single and leading the left over sugar cane club…darn…but baking makes me happy. So cheerios!

BUSY – it seems that’s my favourite word since I last blogged. Welcome ‘BALANCE’ - as this will be my new year’s resolution – AGAIN? Cliché but yes – when there’s a will, there’s always a way. Loving my current journey especially with the new family member – Mr. Jayden Shiek. Have spoilt some of my assets, gave me disturbance of sleep, had most of the attention, ate my favourite food and spoilt my cake decoration by poking and biting on it…but he’s the angel to our family.

There’s some great progression in my baking and cake decorating skills – honestly, I feel proud and satisfied with the outcomes and hopefully my clients are happy too. There are too many pictures that I would like to share here but I have limitation of time – I have a long list of things to complete before my holiday ends on 2 Jan 2014 – one of it is to stop by here…

I wanted to do something special for my nephew as he’s very special to me and to my family. The idea is to have all the guests to enjoy the array of sweet treats and topped with a simple toy-like cake design. I made those little blue baby shoes and milk bottles…

Year 1 – Animal Party Cake

Made him a three-tier cake, black forest/marble cheesecake and raspberry chocolate cake...had every bits of the cake. Fed the whole party comers – kids and adults…I hand-made all the characters from elephant, squirrel, piglet, bear, lion, hippopotamus to rabbit – as Jayden was born in the year of Rabbit.

Year 2 – Choo Choo Train

His first reaction when he saw the cake was – wow…and started singing choo choo train…one way ticket…cheeky little angel…the cake was a secret recipe I innovated from a popular bakery in NY where I’ve created the amazingly flavourful choco banana cake – filled with fresh banana cream, ganache and chopped walnuts. The best part of the party? Everyone gets to pick their favourite candies!

New Baking Portfolios
It's midnight and I can't seem to sleep but I know reading and writing helps me to calm my mind. Hopefully I'll be able to get some rest soon. It's been a while since I last blog - change of work environment, new vision, new exploration in career and new discoveries of life have been keeping me busy.

The last four months has been a roller coaster ride for me but still standing strong, thanks to all my loved ones and friends who are always there. You know who you are. God, I praise for your wisdom. Everything happened for a reason. To me, things happened for many reasons and I know my prayers were answered. For some reasons, I've never thought myself could do so much in baking and cake decorating till I was taken in as a cake decorator in one of the culinary/baking school in town. The journey so far has been amazing! *cheeky smiles*.

The Fisherman Cake
(My back-dated drafted blog but was not published)

I’m surprised with my recent creation. I'm getting better in moulding a character out of fondant. I enjoyed making this cake as I have plenty of time to mould all the requested details – can of coke, fisherman with a fishing rod, mini pond with fishes, a tree, a fisherman’s tool box and other side decorations. Somehow my dad and mum will always be there when I bake. Dad will show me how to mould a fisherman’s toolbox because he likes fishing too. There are times I need someone who can visualise the icons for me. Mum will be there to chit chat with me like how she used to chat with my late grandmother. She will share with me her comments and tips to improve the entire presentation of the cake. She's my inspiration in delivering better quality cakes - she always emphasize that...love her for making sure I progress well.

Designer Cookies

My first design for my designer cookie was little yellow duckling for a new born baby shower party. I took the challenge by creating my own little duckling cookie cutter and the shape ended as good as am using a cookie cutter. It was individually packed for 150 pax. There’s always a first time in everything and I progressed well in designing my next three designs – an icon of my dad for his 61^st birthday, high heel shoes for a sweet 16^th birthday party and classic wedding cake design for Loong’s wedding.
